Dental Emergencies

dental care at andrew scott clinic

If you have a dental emergency outside of our opening hours you may call us on 01224 806700 to obtain the phone number of the on-call dentist. The on-call dentist may be from a different dental practice as we participate in an on-call agreement with other dental practices in Aberdeen. If you arrange to see the on-call dentist there is likely to be a call-out fee for this service.

We have emergency time slots available each day and therefore we normally can accommodate you on the same day if you call early.

Advice for Dental Emergencies:

Swelling

If you have facial swelling, this could indicate that you have an infection. You will need to see a dentist as you may need some antibiotics to relieve the symptoms of this infection.

My crown has fallen out

If you are not experiencing pain and want to wait to see your preferred dentist at a more convenient time you can obtain a dental repair kit from some chemists, supermarkets or pharmacies.

Broken Tooth

If you are not experiencing pain and want to wait to see your preferred dentist at a more convenient time phone 01224 806700 during opening hours where we will be able to see you in one of our emergency times which will be either on the same day or the following day.

Adult Tooth Fallen out

If an adult tooth is knocked out, rinse the tooth carefully in water, try to put it back in place and then bite down onto a handkerchief to hold it in place. Call us on 01224 806700 to arrange an emergency appointment.

If you can’t put an adult tooth back into position, place it in milk and call us on 01224 806700.

Baby Tooth Fallen out

Don’t try to re-insert a baby tooth as you can damage the adult tooth underneath – call us on 01224 806700
