Tooth wear can be debilitating for patients causing teeth sensitivity and affecting the ability to eat, speak and smile with confidence as well as changing face shape in cases where there is significant destruction of dentition. It is better to address tooth wear early so that preventative treatment and advice can be provided however where there is significant damage to teeth there are several treatment options available to restore dentition ranging from simple tooth build-up procedures to full mouth reconstruction with crowns or complex dentures. It is possible in severe bruxism (a condition in which you grind, gnash or clench your teeth) that there will be ongoing repairs, replacements and treatment required.
For this type of treatment we would recommend an initial consultation with George Cherukara (MFDS RCPS Glasg 2000, MClinDent Lond 1999, BDS Bangalore 1991) our Associate Specialist Dentist who is a clinical senior lecturer and consultant at the University of Aberdeen Dental School and Hospital. He is registered on GDC specialist lists for Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Endodontics and Periodontics.
We accept referrals from dentists as well as patients booking directly for this treatment. There is no need to register for general dental treatment with Andrew Scott Dental Care for specific treatments.
