Dental implants are a safe, well-established treatment. It’s probably true to say that implants, much like natural teeth, will last for as long as you care for them.
How well you look after your implants – and whether you go for your regular maintenance appointments – will have the biggest impact on how long they will last.
If your implants are well looked after, and if the bone they are fitted to is strong and healthy, you can expect them to last for many years. However, just as with other surgical implants (such as a hip replacement) there is no lifetime guarantee.
Dental Implants are not necessarily suitable in every situation and therefore your dentist will carry out a full assessment before proposing the best possible solution for you. At Andrew Scott Dental Care we have invested in a Cone Beam Computed Tomography Scanner (CBCT) which produces a high quality 3D image of your jaw so that the dentist can assess the depth and quality of the bone in the area where you would require a dental implant. This 3D image also allows the dentist to assess where to place implants and what type and size are best suited to your situation.
It is important when considering any surgery that you fully assess the capabilities and experience of the person performing the surgery as well as considering the quality of the materials that are going to be used.
Andrew Scott has placed in excess of 1,500 dental implants with very high success rates and with very aesthetic results. Andrews primary focus is in proposing this type of treatment is the overall wellbeing of the patient and in some cases Dental Implants may not be the best course of treatment in order to provide the patient with the best possible result.
At Andrew Scott Dental Care we are committed to using high quality materials and choose to place Straumann Dental Implants as we believe that these implants offer the best results for our patients.
VSS TRAINING CENTRE (DISCOUNTED IMPLANT PLACEMENT):
Andrew Scott Dental Care has become an official training centre for qualified dentists studying for the postgraduate MSc in Clinical Implantology at the University of Central Lancashire. This means that we are mentoring fully qualified dentists in treatment planning, placing and restoring dental implants. It’s a way of giving suitable patients the chance to benefit from implants at a considerably reduced cost.
As a result of this new programme, we’re now looking for candidates to receive dental implants placed and restored under direct supervision by Dr Andrew Scott at our multi award-winning state of the art practice in Aberdeen’s West End. Andrew has over 20 years of experience in placing and restoring dental implants.
Not all clients would be suitable candidates as there are certain criteria for the case to be met. However, the initial consultation would be free and we would certainly be able to advise you of your situation and options. Should you be unsuitable to be considered as a candidate for this opportunity, we can still offer you dental implant treatment at a reduced fee from our usual costs at Andrew Scott Dental Care and in this case the treatment would be carried out by Andrew personally.
Clients who are treated on the course would be charged a fee of £1,800 to include treatment planning, any radiographic assessment required, placement of a dental implant and a crown for the implant. This is a saving of over £1,000 per implant on our usual prices (including CBCT scan and bone grafting).
If you are interested in being a candidate for this opportunity then please email us at the address below where you can arrange a consultation or ask further questions.
