Facial Aesthetic Injections

Patricia Cameron one of our talented cosmetic dentists with an interest in facial aesthetics.  Patricia spends time finding out what you hope to achieve before preparing a treatment plan which will address the areas of concern.  It is important to Patricia that the treatment subtly addresses those concerns to provide a fresher and more youthful appearance.  It can be a bit daunting when you initially consider cosmetic treatments, so we strongly recommend that you carry out checks to ensure that you attend a reputable clinician before proceeding with treatment.

If you’d like to know more but feel unsure about what treatments would be best suited to your needs, then book a FREE initial cosmetic consultation with Patricia Cameron to find out more or register to attend one of our information evenings.

Facial fillers (otherwise known as dermal fillers) are injectable gels used to restore or add volume to the face. Fillers vary in density (thickness), which determines the area they can be used in and what they’re designed for, whether that is to provide lift or contouring, create symmetry, fill in lines or deep folds, or enhance a particular feature such as the lips.

JUVÉDERM® hyaluronic acid facial fillers are injectable treatments that can be used to either refresh your look or enhance your features.

If you want to REFRESH your look, we have specific facial fillers that can replace lost facial volume, lift cheeks, plump lips, smooth out lines and wrinkles and restore moisture content.

These temporary fillers will be brown down by your body naturally and eventually the results will fade.

Results vary in length depending on the treatment chosen, the area treated, the volume added and the amount that the face moves.  Results are visible shortly after treatment with most people returning to their normal routine on the day they are treated, depending on treatment received.

Potential side effects associated with JUVÉDERM® products include temporary injection-site reactions such as:

  • Redness
  • Swelling
  • Itching
  • Pain
  • Tingling/numbness
  • Firmness/bumps
  • Bruising
  • Discolouration

These reactions may occur immediately or may be delayed, and can last for up to a week. Injection in the lip may cause more swelling and bruising due to the unique physiology of this area. As with any injection, there is a risk of infection. This is not a complete list of potential side effects. If inflammatory reactions persist for more than one week, or if any other side effects develop, seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Muscle Relaxing Injections – Botulinum Toxin – commonly known as BOTOX® which is a brand name. Muscle Relaxing Injections prevents the muscles in your face from contracting. Anti-wrinkle injectables are a natural protein.  Patricia will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you.

Some patients report that being injected with BOTOX® feels like a pinch.  If you are concerned about discomfort, Patricia can apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.  Treatment requires minimal downtime, so you can return to your daily routine immediately after you leave Andrew Scott Dental Care.

The results of this type of treatment may be noticed within 24 to 48 hours for moderate to severe frown lines.  It delivers predictable, subtle results, so you look like you, only with less noticeable facial lines.
